Dear Mom,

You said you were going away and I want to hear all about your trip. In the meantime, The Birding Sisters have returned. They came into the dining room just as we were finishing lunch. Eyes down, very subdued. They were asked how it went and they sort of stuttered, "We didn't see any birds!" Heeeeh! I nearly choked on my food! (Cherry pie!)

It seems what they did mostly was walk. (They call it 'hiking'.) They walked for hours, on and on, in the hot broiling sun. They said it was a lot of fun. Well, to each her own!

I would never do anything like that! They had to wear thick sturdy shoes and big floppy hats! Nothing like the black spandex that's so me!
