Bird

A few days ago when My Mom was in the backyard she called, "Panther! Sister Panther Rose! Come here and see!" I ran outside and stood with My Mom who was looking at a little tree. "Look, Panther," she said. I stood on my toes and looked up and right inside of the tree there was a little grey bird. She was sitting calmly inside a nest. My Mom said there was an egg in the nest and she explained that the bird was going to have a baby. I was very excited!

Every day My Mom and I went outside and looked at the bird in the nest. Then yesterday the bird wasn't there! The nest was there and the little egg but no bird! I cried and cried. Didn't the grey bird want her baby?

I thought of my birth mom, Violet Mae. Although she couldn't take care of me, she carried me to the dear Sisters at the Order of Felines. She was very brave. If I see the grey bird again I will tell her about the Order of Birds. Even if her baby is a Love Bird, the Sisters (OB) will care for it as one of their own.
